Committee Members

The OAOP has a number of committees focused around specific topics that affect optometrists.  Committee members are volunteers that donate their time and effort to improving the various aspects of optometry and the Association.

 Distinguished Service Award

The Oklahoma Association of Optometric Physicians’ Distinguished Service Award recognizes an individual doctor of optometry who has distinguished himself/herself within the profession for unusually significant contributions and outstanding achievements contributing to the advancement of the profession of optometry.  It recognizes long-term dedication rather than a single contribution.

O.D. of the Year

Every year OAOP members are nominated by their colleagues for the OD of the Year and Young OD of the Year Awards. These nominees are individuals whose commitment to excellence and outstanding contributions embody the goals, visions and achievements of the OAOP. The OD of the Year is selected based on his or her efforts to fulfill the goals of the association, support the profession of optometry and the local community and promote the visual welfare of the public.

Young O.D. of The Year

Though young in their practice, nominees for the Young OD of the Year award are maximizing their potential and working to make a difference in the profession of optometry.

Team of the Century

Those individuals honored as the "OAOP Team of the Century" have contributed to the legacy and heritage of the optometric profession in Oklahoma. The OAOP recognized this team at the 2000 Annual Education Congress held on April 14, 2000 in Oklahoma City.

Past Presidents

Past presidents of the OAOP are individuals who have dedicated their time and work to providing leadership and expertise to the Association and their colleagues.
